New Alder EP delivers

The long-awaited follow up to his stellar "Long Way Down album", this record presents a more intimate and exposed side of Alder. However, woven within the sonic fabric of the stripped down acoustic guitars and breathy vocals, there are some beautiful darknesses and cathartic lights in "Constant Drift…," Alder’s heaviest writing effort yet. “Change” has always been my favorite of his songs at his live shows, and it shines here in this powerfully haunting recording. Check out Alder live if you can, or any of his other records for that matter. He is a true talent not only as an artist, but also as a producer. This is well worth the 5 bucks!
A drift that brings you back

Though certainly a departure from what else I’ve heard from Alder, you don’t really realize it until you’ve listened a few times through. The earnest vocals and honest lyrics sound like he’s whispering them like secrets in my ear. Try wearing your best set of headphones and listen to "Words" lying on the floor. Someone else told me that’s the correct way to listen to that song and I’m now a believer.

This mellow collection from Alder is amazing. Perfect music for a rainy/snowy day, a drive up the coast, a sunday morning, or anytime you need to chill out a little bit.
